Still no news on cause of death of Tracey Hottenstein (see previous posts). Coroner is still awaiting toxicology reports.

Cool NYTimes Article on simple fixes for every day problems:
Fixes for High-Tech Problems
Cellphone in the Toilet
It could happen to anyone: you dropped your cellphone in the toilet. Take the battery out immediately, to prevent electrical short circuits from frying your phone’s fragile internals. Then, wipe the phone gently with a towel, and shove it into a jar full of uncooked rice.
It works for the same reason you may keep few grains of rice in your salt shaker to keep the salt dry. Rice has a high chemical affinity for water - that means the molecules in the rice have a nearly magnetic attraction for water molecules, which will be soaked up into the rice rather than beading up inside the phone.
It is a low-tech version of the “Do Not Eat” desiccant packets that may have been packed in the box the phone came in, to keep moisture away from the circuitry during shipping and storage.
Lost Car in Parking Lot
Your car is lost in a massive mall carpark outdoors. You can’t remember where you parked. You’re car-key wireless door opener should honk the horn to help you determine where your car is. You try pressing the button but nothing happens because you are out of range. Solution: put the wireless door opener on the side of your head/cranium. It extends the range of the wireless signal about twice - or more. It’s not an urban myth. BBC’s Top Gear demonstrated it - Jeremy Clarkson was quite stunned. It’s on YouTube. Now you know why your cellphone is capable of such a strong signal. : )

Meeting will give public chance to speak about
Sea Isle City amusement park plan

SEA ISLE CITY - City Council will hold a public meeting Saturday morning about a proposal to lease downtown space near the marina to an amusement park operator. Gilamco Inc., which operates Gillian’s Wonderland Pier in Ocean City, was the only company that submitted a proposal.
The company wants to operate “Gillian’s Funland of Sea Isle City” and offered different layouts for 10 or 11 rides that would be located alongside a public waterfront on 42nd Place.
Proposed rides include a Ferris wheel, a merry-go-round, a fun slide, a “Sky Tower,” “Jump Around Frogs” and others.
The workshop will be held at 10 a.m. in City Council’s chambers in the Public Safety Building on John F. Kennedy Boulevard. At a regular council meeting Tuesday, City Council will vote on whether to accept the proposal, Council President John Divney said.”We wanted Saturday to make sure people who aren’t here during the week will voice their opinions,” he said.
A public hearing in September on the concept of bringing amusement rides back to Sea Isle City drew mixed reactions.
Amusement rides in the marina district could attract a host of young families to visit and remain in the city, some proponents said.
But some opponents worried rides could bring lights, noise and parking problems as well as potentially draw vacationers away from businesses at the city’s beachfront Promenade.
Gillian’s submitted its proposal to Sea Isle City earlier this month.
It offered Sea Isle City 10 percent of the annual gross revenues of the park, including rides and concessions, according to the company’s proposal.
The company is seeking to sell soft drinks, popcorn, cotton candy and soft pretzels at the site. The company also said the city could review and approve any piece of equipment at the site.
The resort lost its only amusement park, “Fun City,” about a decade ago after it closed, was sold and redeveloped.
“The majority of comments both when we were running for election and since then - a lot of people in town miss the previous “Fun City” we had in town. That’s one of the things we hear constantly,” Divney said.
City Council last year began seriously considering leasing space near its downtown marina to amusement operators after the city completes a $3 million project that includes building a Boardwalk-type walkway along the bay at 42nd Place.
Divney said that, if the amusement park is approved, it could be in place by Memorial Day.
