Here’s a good Time Magazine article on one person’s story:

You never want to hear the words that come with such a phone call. “We are all wiped out.” But they came, and we went numb. We lost, on paper, $1.2 million. My wife’s family’s combined losses are close to $30 million. We’re talking old ladies and men, lawyers, children with Madoff trusts, students in college and an array of others who thought they had the world beat — and they did, at least for a time.

BBC broadcast on shoe incident with President Bush in Iraq…

“This is a gift from the Iraqis. This is the farewell kiss, you dog,” the journalist shouted (in Arabic), Steven Lee Myers of The New York Times reported in a pool report to the White House press corps.

Myers reported that the man threw the second shoe and added: “This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq.”

Friedman nails it again.  Muslims go bonkers over the Prophet Muhammad being depicted in cartoon images two years ago. Yet, when radical Muslims kill hundreds in the city of Mumbai, no angry protests anywhere.  It’s happened countless times in the last decade.  Where’s the outrage?
