I spent some time with the family in Sea Isle City this Thanksgiving Weekend and was informed that Polar Plunge is going to be a three day event this year. Below is a clip from last year. 1400 people went into the water in 2008 and about 10,000 came to Sea Isle for the plunge. Expectation is to easily surpass those numbers this year. It’s really a great time and should be the best yet in 2009. While still in the planning stages, the event is to begin with the crowning of an Ice King and Queen on Friday night. There will be tents all over the downtown area with plenty of eats (Bubba Dogs!!!). Saturday’s festivities will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Sunday, there is rumor of a 5K run for autism with other related activities. Polar Plunge is President’s Day Weekend (and Valentine’s), February 14th, 2009.
