NLCS and Offshore Wind
Monday, October 6th, 2008Some images of yesterday. What a day, what a day, what a day! Could care less about the Eagles and their ongoing soap opera. How old is this line? “That one’s on me…I need to do a better job at getting my guys in positon to make plays.” It’s old, Coach Reid, and I, for one, could care less about your underachieving football team.
FYI, for NLCS coverage that is much more complete than mine, be sure to visit Beerleaguer, Phillies Nation and The 700 level blogs. All are also permanent links under Sports on blog roll to the right. These guys have lots more time on their hands then do I.
Jump on the Phils wagon, folks. It’s gonna be a great October!

Great shot of the homer.

The tentative NLCS schedule has been released. The rumblings about an early Friday start have been confirmed:
Game 1 - Philadelphia - Thursday - 8:15 p.m.
Game 2 - Philadelphia - Friday - 4:15 p.m.
Game 3 - Los Angeles - Sunday - 8:15 p.m.

Good thing Jenkins had a cup on…

Approximately 19 miles off of Sea Isle’s coastline will be the state’s first wind farm. Plans are underway to construct the farm which will consist of 96 turbines and cover a massive area beyond the horizon. This seems a win-win for environmentalists who aren’t into the offshore drilling initiative and who yearn for renewable fuel sources, and the consumer who is simply looking for cheaper alternatives.
Story: Windfarm offshore
Governor Corzine has called for 1,000 megawatts of electricity to be generated from these farms. This would be the first in a series and will generate approximately 350 megawatts, enough to power about 110,000 homes.
Here’s a short video on the process:
I wonder if the tuna will enjoy hanging around the farm?
