    We’re on T.V!

    Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Once again, thanks to those that voted for our winning the Best Hot Dog of South Jersey. On June 27th, we spent the morning recording a segment for Fox Philly with Jennaphr Frederick on the Promenade in Sea Isle City. The segment is below. There is a piece that precedes ours on a hoagie taste-test that you may want to fast forward through. Allow the video to buffer all of the way and slide the small triangle at the bottom of the video about 2/3rds to the end. Quick post, more later.

Phils pounded the mighty Red Sox last night with starting pitcher Andre the Giant (a.k.a. Bartolo Colon) on the mound for the Sox.  Hamels got the win in a solid performance.  Phils at 12 over .500.

    Utley/La Salle Lax/Hot Dogs!

    Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

    utley.jpg

Great article on Chase Utley (who may have already qualified as my favorite Phillie ever) in the New York Times. Utley Is Mr. Everything, but Egotistical He’s Not

The Phillies, who are playing their best baseball of the season, completed a 3 game sweep of the Braves and now sit at 13 games over .500.  They’re 15-4 in their last 19 and are off to their best start through 65 games since 1933!  Could be a magical season.

To add even more pleasure to the Phils success is the Mets collapse.  Billy Wagner gives up a 3 run knock in the 8th to allow the lowly Padres to complete a 4 game sweep of the Muts.  Muts classy fans are getting so ticked off, Mr. Mut, the worst mascot in baseball, was recently attacked by one of his own:

    met.jpg

At a recent game, the drunken fan manhandled the Amazin’s smiling, giant-baseball-headed mascot, police said. He also allegedly knocked down kids and took a swing at a security guard.

    Story…FAN MEATHEAD VS. MET-HEAD

    Did you know?

26 million hot dogs will be consumed at Major League Baseball parks this season.  That’s an average of 862,702 per team.  The Phils (or Aramark?) will make over $2,000,000 on hot dogs alone!!!!
