Charles Landis, Sea Isle’s founder, was a big fan of Venice, Italy. He dredged the above lagoons in order to emulate Venice. His plan was to have the lagoons all connected on the east end with walking bridges over each. While his vision didn’t pan out as he would have liked, it is still a nice way to spend your summer months, and you can’t catch blue claw crabs off your dock in Venice.
